Scrapdango June Reveal

This month has another amazing Sugar kit!

I finally created my son's First Eucharist layout (a year later!):
My medium DD on the first day of school this year:

Our trip to Natural Bridge last summer:

I also scrapped-up a set of mirrors that we have hanging in our home.

The only major thing that I added here were the Sassafras chipboard pieces and the bling. Be sure to stop into the store and pick up this kit starting May 5th!

Scrapdango April Sugar kit reveal

I LOVED this kit, featuring Simple Stories Fabulous line {Available April 5th)!

I remember weaving a basket as a child, so, on this layout about my niece, I decided to give it a try with paper:

I used every bit of the yarn in the kit on this layout, and I love the effect...

On this layout, I decided to only use the journaling cards in the kit as the patterned paper. The baker's twine on the second page was the actual twine from the bakery. Love that I was able to use it!

This one was simple... I only matted the picture twice and then added in lots of embellishments.

This kit just begs for cute, springy cards to be made.

Have a lovely week, and don't forget to get your own kit on the 5th!

Log Your Memory: I can finally share!

Capture your everyday real life with the help of Log Your Memory!

I've been part of a "secret" design team for two months now.

Have you heard of Log Your Memory yet?

If you are looking for help with where to get started when it comes to sharing your stories, this is an amazing book... actually TWO separate books - the actual 2012 Memory Logbook, which has the calendar pages and questionnaires - and a separate Real Life Scrapbooking Weekly Challenges: Time Capsule book, which has the actual Weekly Challenges.

There is also a special area of the website just for Weekly Challenge book owners!

I am so honored to be a part of this special team.

Here is the official announcement.

This is where you can make your purchase (because you are NOT going to want to miss out!).

Thanks for letting me share my excitement!

Sketches: Creatively Yours

I am so honored to have been asked to serve another term at Sketches: Creatively Yours. Ali's designs push me to think differently about my pictures on hand than I might otherwise (and that's a GREAT thing). I hope you'll be able to play along with us soon. You can read the announcement here.

First Day of Kindergarten

The first challenge for the month is up at Trail Makers, and it was to use the blog banner as your inspiration.

I got to work with some other goodies from the store for this layout. The Bo Bunny bracket paper was an obvious choice based on the banner and is the main design focus of the layout. I also love the fun touch of the Color Story flowers.

This is another one for my medium DD... on her first day of kindergarten!

Be sure to hop over to the blog to see more takes on this challenge! And, don't forget, TPT is being sponsored this month by Krisi's Kreations. Click here to see what I created with her calendar download!

The Paper Trail Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be the guest designer this month over at The Paper Trail! Karen always has fabulous challenges to work with over on the blog, and this month's kit is Crate's Neighborhood line. *SWOON* You can't go wrong with Crate!

When I saw this paper, I knew I had to do a layout for my medium DD with it because she's been feeling left out lately. :( This is about her and her first school BFF. Who knew texting terms were so "in" with the kindergarten crew? LOL.

TPT is being sponsored this month by Krisi's Kreations. I downloaded her fab 2010 calendar pages and fun button sentiments. I've always wanted to create a month-at-a-glance page but never had, so that's what I used them on! I chose to document this past December because I always have a ton of December pics.

Finally, to start off the month, The Paper Trail is having a blog hop, until April 3rd, with a progressive dinner theme. For those of you who have never heard of a progressive dinner, it's where a group of people start at one house and eat your appetizer, and then move to each house eating and socializing. Your task with us is to pick one as inspiration (or all of them!) and show us your layouts (it doesn't have to be about food). I'm serving up appetizers. Here is your inspiration pic...

...and here is a layout that I created for my cookbooking scrapbook, a Rachael Ray recipe for Lettuce Wraps. I used some Asian-inspired papers from Karen's shop along with Cosmo Cricket Earth Love journaling spots, Prima flowers, and Liquid Pearls (which Karen has in just about every color!

Here is the blog hop order:
First up is our Appetizer at Heather's...YOU ARE HERE!
Going for drinks next at Amarilys'
Then we're off to Yara's for some salad
And the main dish at Sandi's
A scrumptious side dish at Karen's
A yummy dessert at Krystle's
an after dinner mint at Krisi's Kreations
And ending the evening playing some cards at Tanya's.

Then go back to the Trail Makers blog, become a follower (if you aren't already) and tell us what you liked best about the Fun in the Neighborhood Blog Hop for a chance to win an April 2011 kit from The Paper Trail (retail value $35). You have until 11PM EST on Sunday, April 3rd to complete the hop and get your comments posted!

Scrapdango January reveals

I am SO honored to have had the opportunity to play with the Scrapdango January Sugar kit as a guest designer this month.

I used almost the entire kit and two sets of add-ons. Seriously... I have only scraps of paper left (and not even that many!), some alphas, a couple Pink Paislee glitter stickers, and some Smootch Spritz that was part of the add-on. THAT'S IT! The entire package was awesome!

Go grab yours now... I'll wait. :)

You saw one layout made with the kit in yesterday's post. Here are the rest of my reveals...

Scrapdango Library Crop

This is my challenge for the Scrapdango Library Crop.

I WAS going to have you take a layout that you had done and weren't happy with and re-do it because I have a lot of my old ones that I don't like and wish I'd done differently.

BUT....

In the end, I just couldn't change them.

SO, I would like for you to just OLD photos (remember, this is a History challenge!) in a newly-created layout.

Here is my example {using the *amazing* Scrapdango January Sugar kit! Woot woot!}:

You have until January 23rd to complete this layout and link it in your sign in thread to earn one draw for a fabulous prize... so HURRY!

Tomorrow I'll share the rest of my Scrapdango reveals for this month!

Journaling Junkie: Achievements

This fortnight's Journaling Junkie challenge is to create a layout about something that you never thought you could do. When and how you achieved it, how it made you feel, where you can go from here.

Journaling: That “new baby” smell. Washing tiny clothes. The way they shutter when they stretch. Nursing. Even changing diapers! I love every minute of babyhood. I went from wanting two kids to four before I even had three. But, my pregnancies have all had their issues. Can I handle the stress of another?

I was inspired by this layout.
