Journaling Junkie: Quality Time

We're talking about love languages this fortnight... my daughter's is definitely "Quality Time".

Journaling: You SO love time spent with me... whether it's playing games, making dinner, or a day out painting pottery and having a treat. I love spending time with YOU!

Used the newest Dixie Pieces kit for this one.

Happy birthday...

to my sweet, smart, getting-bigger-by-the-moment 8 year-old!

Materials were from the October 2010 Dixie Pieces kit.

Most materials are from the November Dixie Pieces kit (and I still have more left!).

A baseball layout

Four and a half years ago, we went on a tour of Jacobs Field (now Progressive Field) in Cleveland... I'm just now scrapping this for my husband's album.

I used the November Dixie Pieces kit.

The Dixie Pieces kit for November is perfect for scrapping all the boy pics that I have laying around. I had to make this one for my son right away!

Ain't She Sweet?

Did you catch the Beatles reference? :)

I combined two challenges, from Dixie Pieces and Scrapdango, to create this layout about my daughter wearing a dress that my grandmother made for me when I was little...

Almost everything was from the July 2010 Dixie Pieces kit.

"Home Ec" challenge

We could only use 12 items on this layout, had to include stitching, and needed to use one of several color palletes. It was hard for me... I kept wanting to include more, but I love the way it turned out.

OH- and I used the Dixie Pieces Krafty Lime kit for this one!

Journaling Junkie: Comforts

This fortnight's Journaling Junkie challenge is to create a layout about something that comforts you. For that, I went back to my childhood...

Journaling: When I was a baby, some family friends gave me a set of Holly Hobbie's friend "Heather" dolls. They were the equivalent of a security blanket to me (and are so worn out now that you can tell!). When we went to Cape Hatteras, I saw this Holly Hobbie doll for you. It didn't have a name, so I called it your Annie doll. I love that we have these dolls in common!

I used the Dixie Pieces November 2009 kit for this one.

I posted a challenge at Dixie Pieces today on taking portrait shots with your camera. All month, the design team is hosting photography challenges. The winner at the end of the month will receive a gift certificate to the Dixie Pieces store. Come play along!

Dixie Pieces August reveal

I am so honored to be the guest designer for Dixie Pieces this month! The August kit is a fabulous, versatile, classy blend of white, black, and red, with a little blue thrown in for good measure.

Be sure to check it out, and we would love to have you join us on the forum for a month of fun!

Here is what I came up with...

Birthday month at Dixie Pieces

July has been birthday month over at DP. The one challenge I completed was to create a 2-page birthday layout...

Journaling Junkie: Friends

Challenge 84: We all have a group of friends, those we turn to when stuff happens, those we rejoice with, those we can be ourselves with...thos especial few - the inner circle. Journal about these special people in your life and the traits that you admire in them.

Journaling: For a year or so in college, I virtually swore off friendships with girls. I could just relate better to no-drama guys. In Andrea, though, I found a fun, non-catty, would-do-anything-for-you friend. I think because of her, I kept lots of guy friends, but was able to work girls back in, too.

This layout was made with the awesome July kit from Dixie Pieces!

How have I not shared this?!?!

I'm going to be the guest designer for Dixie Pieces in August. I received my kit last week and have already completed three layouts and a project with it. You'll NOT want to miss this! Stay tuned for August 1, the day kits go on sale and the day that I can share my work.
