SunnyGrls: Family Fun kit
Oh my goodness, I made a digi page!
I loved playing with the Family Fun kit over at SunnyGrls. Look at that flower! I was going to print the elements and create a traditional page, but my printer needed new ink cartridges, so I used what I had... my computer!
The kit is currently 30% off, so go check it out now.

New Family messy book
A friend of mine is getting married in a few weeks. He is blending himself, his son, and his daughter (my daughter's best friend) with his future wife and her two daughters. His first wife died last year of a brain tumor, the same thing that I lost my father to. He was a rock through her entire illness, and his children have come through that tragedy better because of it. They are so excited to start their lives as this new family. I created this book mostly for the kids to document times when they are awestruck by this journey. The album is a mixture of acrylic and chipboard, so forgive the rather strange way that some pages show through others.

Journaling Junkie: Friends
Challenge 84: We all have a group of friends, those we turn to when stuff happens, those we rejoice with, those we can be ourselves with...thos especial few - the inner circle. Journal about these special people in your life and the traits that you admire in them.
Journaling: For a year or so in college, I virtually swore off friendships with girls. I could just relate better to no-drama guys. In Andrea, though, I found a fun, non-catty, would-do-anything-for-you friend. I think because of her, I kept lots of guy friends, but was able to work girls back in, too.
This layout was made with the awesome July kit from Dixie Pieces!

What I'm doing
I'm having a slow, lazy, fun week. It's going to be over 100 degrees here for most of it, so I pulled out this kit from Christine Middlecamp that I received months ago and haven't worked on yet. I figured thinking about Christmas and winter would help to stay cool! I selfishly hope Christine will eventually come back around to creating kits, although I know she is going through some exciting changes with going back to school. She is just so inspiring! If you aren't familiar with her work, check her out!

Journaling Junkie: In My Bag
I loved this challenge at Journaling Junkie.
We were to document the stuff we had in our bag at a certain point in time.
At this time, I carry a diaper bag as my purse.
Here is my list as journaling:
wallet and pen
mini sewing kit
crayons
book for Mom's group
reusable snack bags
Campbell's labels picked up from school
coupons
certificate that Z got at school
program from Kristen's ordination
tag from Annie's doll
VBS forms
doctor receipts
ephemera from Hatteras trip
Baby stuff: nursing cover, orajel, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, toy, hairbow, apple
snacks, 3 pairs of socks (!), extra outfit, hat, cloth diaper and storage bag, two
disposable diapers, wipes, changing pad
Missing? My cell phone and point-and-shoot camera... both on the kitchen island and not actually in my bag at the time.
