Journaling Junkie: Wedding Symbol
This challenge was to create a layout about a symbol that meant something more.
Journaling:
For our marriage prep class, we had to create a visual symbol of what marriage meant to us.
Rope= binding together
Knot= interweaving of our lives
Rose= love
Peach because it was one of our wedding colors.
I used a sketch from PageMaps and used the Lucky Girls January kit.

Blinged birthday card
It's my sister's birthday (and my half-birthday!). I created this blinged-up card for her for a Scrapdango challenge using the Lucky Girls January kit.

The Purpose of the Task framed thought
This post by Becky Higgins inspired me. I've been pondering over the words and what they mean for my role as a mother.
I created this for a Friday Fun Day Challenge over at Lucky Girl Crafts and used the kit that they sent me last month to complete it. As a bonus, I lifted my scrappy friend, Ana.

Journaling Junkie: Fall
This one is all about seasons... your season in life, or a season of the year.
My journaling: Fall is our favorite season. Apple picking, cooler weather, pumpkins, hay mazes, and dressing up. You decided almost a year ago to be a ghost this year and are the cutest one I've ever seen!
I also submitted this at Trail Makers, Scrapdango, and Dixie Pieces.

Beautiful Day
I was thinking about my niece a lot today and knew that I had to use these pics for the week 3 challenge of Crowned over at Scrapdango.
I used a kit that I won from Lucky Girl Crafts to complete this layout. Thanks Jessica!

Where I'm From
This week's Crowned competition at Scrapdango was to use yellow, polka dots, and a reveal. Well, there's nothing more revealing than old photos (especially with HUGE glasses and braces!).
I took the idea and the last stanza of the poem from George Ella Lyon. If you haven't yet tried her idea of exploring from where you came, it was a fun experience!
Here is my full journaling:
I am from hanging the wash out to dry
and raking leaves in the fall.
I am from playing in the back yard
and having Easter pictures in the front.
I am from drying the dishes,
dusting the house,
and sleeping in the living room
during strong storms.
I'm from fruitcake and cotton,
Thanksgiving in Harrisonburg, Christmas in Shelby.
I'm from the three Bridges girls,
the thoroughbreds.
From hard work and Do your best!
I'm from soccer and dancing,
late football Friday night pizza
and New Year’s game nights.
I'm from glasses and braces,
reading and sleepovers.
From never knowing one grandfather,
and a grandmother gone too soon.
I am from Bible drills and prayer,
gullibility, nighttime tucking in
I’m from winding up an old mantle clock.
I’m from posters on the walls,
bunk beds and bedtime secrets.
From four schools in as many years
And an occasional heartbreak.
I am from those moments--
snapped before I budded --
leaf-fall from the family tree.

Baby feet
I loved this idea when I saw it on Becky Higgins' blog... photographing baby feet in the shape of a "v". Luckily, my little one was still little enough at the time to cooperate.
I created this layout for a Crowned competition challenge at Scrapdango.

Journaling Junkie: Quality Time
We're talking about love languages this fortnight... my daughter's is definitely "Quality Time".
Journaling: You SO love time spent with me... whether it's playing games, making dinner, or a day out painting pottery and having a treat. I love spending time with YOU!
Used the newest Dixie Pieces kit for this one.

I don't know why I'm only just getting to this, but here is the 12 month layout from my mostly-made-while-I-was-pregnant baby series.
