Sadly, my husband's grandfather passed away over the summer. This layout is about our kids and their second cousins bonding even more, as they participated in his funeral and got through this experience together.

Wonderland
Fall means that winter is almost here... woot!
These are pics from the one day of snow that we had last winter.
I decided to use flock as the snow to the right of the picture strip. It had been a long time since I'd pulled that out!
And, now I have to go clean off the piano (where I take all of my blog pics) because the flock is all over it...
Enjoy!

40 Days of Celebration
My husband turns 40 today!
A lot of his family lives out of town, so I wanted a way that we could involve lots of people in his celebration without them having to travel.
Enter the 40-Day Countdown Party... My idea was for him to receive something special representing the number of days left until his birthday, starting 40 days ahead of time. On each person's day, they either dropped off items at our house, emailed them to him, or mailed them to arrive on that day.
Here's the final list of what he received:
40 birthday cake candles
39 half-dollars
38 marshmallows
37 lollipops
36 cookies
35 packages of Ramen noodles
34 baseball cards
33 balloons
32 (+18) balls at the driving range
31 minute nap
30 sticks/pieces of gum
29 jelly beans
28 things that happened in 1972
27 mints
26 word searches
25 jokes
24 mini cupcakes
23 wasabi peas
22 fortune cookies
21 Jumble puzzles
20 dollar donation to charity
19 sunflower seeds
18 batting cage pitches
17 candy bars
16 oz. of coffee
15 pretzel rods
14 sodas
13 bagels
12 doughnuts
11 origami cranes
10 lottery tickets
9 car fresheners
8 iTunes songs
7 snack bags of peanuts
6 different beers
5 cans of chili
4 peanut butter cups
3 bags of popcorn
2 bottles of wine
1 gift card
It was a ton of fun, and he looked forward to each day.

A 50-photo layout!
I wasn't trying to set a record for fitting the most pictures on one page, but...
Here are 50!
On each of our vacations, my husband takes road sign pictures (tell me he's not the only one!). I compiled the ones from this past summer onto one layout.
Glad to have reduced the stack somewhat (only 700 or so pictures to go...).

Namesake
My husband is the 5th in a line of men with his name. It's caused a bit of a hassle with credit report and bills (even banks!). When I was pregnant with our son, he decided not to pass that hardship onto the baby, though he did want to give him the name as his MIDDLE name. This is a 4-generation layout about that name...
I used the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch for this one.

NC Cousins
Over the summer, we had the pleasure of seeing the family of one of my cousins for the first time in probably 11 years. I am so glad that my kids could finally meet his. They bonded instantly.
I created this for the Big Idea Festival as a "happy" layout.

Switching it up a little for March with a double-pager.
April can be found here. I believe there are still some kits available at Scrapdango.

January
I switched from doing Project Life this year to doing month-at-a-glance layouts.
Obviously, I'm totally keeping up with it.
Here's a look at our January...

Afternoon with Daddy
We try to go on dates with one child at a time at least once during the summer. This page is about my son's day with daddy last year.
I used all old product. Love the idea of trying to use it all up before buying a lot more, but I'm starting to worry that I'll never buy new stuff again. LOL.

39 and Counting
My husband will be 40 in two weeks, and he's not taking it well.
I finally made this page about his birthday last year, attempting to remind him that a birthday can be fun.

Surgery and homecoming
I finally sat down to work on these.
In April of last year, my youngest had kidney surgery. I wrote out the journaling at that time but just couldn't make myself get these scrapped.
She's 100% fine, by the way, but it was such an emotional thing that I almost didn't want to reconnect with those feelings.
