Journaling Junkie: Balance

My first challenge with JJ was...

In honour of Mother's Day ( however I know that we are not all mothers...)
journal about finding balance in your life. Include things like your "to do" list, time management tricks, how you prioritise what needs to get done, web sites or magazines you read that give you advice/helpful tips.

I thought I would turn the challenge on it's head a little and document something that I DIDN'T do.

Here is the journaling...
You ask me about things that I can’t remember, like exactly when you sat up or what your first food was. We’ll just call it the second child haze. Everything is noted in your baby book because I didn’t want to forget. Never doubt, though, that I have loved watching you achieve each milestone, and, though the details may have left my brain, each one is… Etched on my Heart.

This challenge closes on the 31st of May 2010 @ midnight GMT- Please leave a comment with the link to your URL on the May 17 post at the JJ blog or email Stefanie eyeore at telkomsa dot net

I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Introducing Journaling Junkie

On a day when I was feeling a bit sorry for myself about the DTs at MSS and SML taking a break/being dissolved, the fabulous Shannon Morgan let me know about a DT call at Journaling Junkie. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and I am now a part of their fabulous team. Journaling generally inspires me more than art (because, as much as we don't like to admit it, it's the important part, right?), so this is a real treat for me. I can't wait to share with you my reveals for the upcoming challenges... but first I have to get to work! :)

Sew Many Layouts: The Girls

The last of my 7 day reveal is another sketch layout. When I was little, my mom always referred to my sisters and I as "the girls" and I caught myself doing it after the youngest was born. Isn't it funny how life comes full circle?

Day 6

Just a simple little card today based on a sketch by one of the girls over at Dixie Pieces. I did a summer theme to coordinate with a post that was to go up about the new design team term at My Scrapbooking Supplies, but unforeseen circumstances will not allow the DT to participate through the summer. Hopefully we'll be back in the fall!

Out of season holiday challenge...

Day 4

This is my first layout using a banner. I love the way it turned out! Yet another good way to use your scraps...

Sew Many Layouts: Bandit

I created this for a color blocking/using 5+ pictures on a page challenge. The SMC image is here.

Day 2 layout

When I first saw the "I can't believe I'm scrapping this" challenge at Dixie Pieces, I didn't think I had anything to use. Then, I went through my box of childhood photos and found a bunch of those small school pictures that we all traded as kids. When the Beatles' "In my Life" came up on my iPod, I knew what to do with them...

Sew Many Layouts: Seven

This is day #1 of 7 in a row where I'll get up-to-date on posting my recent projects. This one was a challenge that I created for the Dixie Pieces National Scrapbooking Day bash.

I also used the sketch of the month at Sew Many Layouts to create this page. The turtle image can be found here. Sadly, this was the last challenge for SML. The digi shop is still open, but there will be no more layout challenges.

Sew Many Layouts: Easter

The final Spring Fling challenge at Scraptivity was to create a layout that used a spring haiku. I wrote this one...

Early spring morning
Children wearing fancy clothes
Easter has arrived

I also incorporated this Sew Many image.

Sew Many Layouts: Show us what you got and a RAK

Sew Many Layouts has a new design team just in time for National Scrapbooking Day.

In celebration of National Scrapbooking Day the design team has created layouts using their favorite scrapbooking products and techniques! Here is mine:

Scrapbooking is my outlet as well as my way of leaving a legacy for my children... I know I've documented things that they (and I!) will forget, and I love that those memories have been preserved.

Scrapbooking recipes has really taken off, and I try to create at least one recipe layout a month. The above layout is mostly made from scraps (one of my favorite things to use!). The SMC image can be found here.

Kristen Powers Ink is our awesome Sponsor for this blog hop! I loved working with this image from her catalog. She also has a line of jewelry (click the image below to go to that shop). What an amazingly talented, busy woman!

CHALLENGE: Create any sized LO using ANY digi image, and share your favorite scrapbooking products and techniques! Submit your creations to Sew Many Layouts by 05/06/10 11:59pm EST to be entered for a chance to win $10.00 to the Kristen Powers Ink Etsy Shop!

I'm also giving away a RAK to celebrate the new team!
